ISLAMABAD, Aug 1 (APP):Danish shipping giant AP Moller–Maersk (MAERSK) announced on Thursday to plan to invest billions of US Dollars in Pakistan’s Maritime infrastructure in Karachi Port in May 2024.
According to a press release, a
meeting of the steering committee to facilitate investment from Denmark in Maritime sector, particularly from leading shipping company Maersk line in Pakistan was held in Islamabad under the Chairmanship of the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Aurangzeb Khan.
The
meeting discussed the progress on signing of the MOU between Pakistan and Denmark regarding public-private partnership for sustainable infrastructure.
“The investment will focus on improving the port’s infrastructure, logistic warehousing, ship breaking and port development”.
Federal Minister Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Shaikh also attended the
meeting online, along with Federal Secretaries of Maritime Ministry and Chairman, KPT.
